About our  Chef

Jason brings years of classical experience as well as a passion for local fare to his Cooking Classes at The Manor House. After graduating high school at Virginia Episcopal School here in Lynchburg VA he attended the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) where he earned his culinary degree.  During his very distinguished career Jason has worked under master chefs Alain Ducasse, Jean-Francois Piege, Les Freres Porcel in France, Monaco, Las Vegas, and most recently in San Francisco with Phil Lesh (Grateful Dead).  He is excited to share his passion for cooking with others through his range of cooking classes.

Sous Vide 101: 

​

Sous Vide means to cook your food to a precise temperature under vacuum and the results are simply succulent and tender. We will teach you how to make the best of your home sous vide setup.

Terms & Conditions

  1. Payment must accompany each reservation and no refunds or credits will be given for cancellations unless your place is filled.  It is the participants responsibility first and foremost to fill their space if they are unable to attend however we will also actively attempt to fill the space through online advertising & promotion.

  2. Classes may be cancelled at any time due to insufficient enrollment. Upon cancellation we will contact you by phone and offer you the choice of either transferring your payment to another class or receiving a refund.

  3. Class seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Class times may vary and always begin promptly.

  4. We reserve the right to alter menus due to seasonal availability.

  5. Notification of any dietary restrictions and/or allergies must be received and discussed at the time of booking.  These cannot be taken into account on the day of the class. 

Dress Code

Aprons will be supplied to all Students for use during their class.  Students are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and clothing.  Open toe shoes are not permitted under any circumstances for safety reasons.
